Phebe Phillips grew up as an only child. She experienced loss at a very young age through the early death of her father, and the emotional decline of her mother. Through this, she developed an empathy and a gift for helping heal emotions. Her past toy line, designed on human form, and made with meticulous care, brought joy and happiness to those who became her clients. Now, with words and illustrations as her medium, she takes both young and old on a journey understanding that through life’s challenges each person is honed to be special and unique, with value and self-worth.
Phebe does not write only for children. Currently, she has seven poems featured in an anthology of East Texas Poets. She is finishing a book of poetry and essay about the sweetness of growing up in East Texas during the 1960s. In Fall 2021, she will finish Sleeping With Louie—A Memoir about being the only child daughter, of an only child mother with Borderline Personality Disorder.
